Singapore generates approximately 817,000 tonnes of food waste a year. At the current rate of 2,000 tonnes of waste per day, Singapore's Semakau Landfill is expected to reach capacity by 2035, which is roughly 11 years from now, if no changes are made to waste management or reduction.
